ALERT- KC Regional Conference
Following is information and the agenda for both days. The agenda is set. The halls are rented. MCDC National is ready for the first of its Regional Leadership Retreats to be held in Kansas City, MO! Are you ready? This retreat will be a real experience. Not only will there be a day-long nuts and bolts training session on Saturday, February 2nd, but on Friday, February 1st, there will be an event open to the public in the city where La Raza has worked tirelessly to force the removal of our own Minuteman Frances Semler from, of all things, the Parks Board, simply because of her volunteer status with MCDC. Regionally, the states whose state and chapter leadership should make every effort to attend are: Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Nebraska, Iowa and Indiana. The conference is open to all MCDC volunteers, whether in leadership or not. For the leaders in other regions who want a head start on the workshop training, join us in Kansas City! DETAILS 1. Lets show them what we are made of ! What we represent! America! national security, secure borders, and our rule of Law! Many of you have asked for information and rightfully so, so here is what we have for now. I am sure National HQ will be sending a National informational advisory on the MCDC Convention but the sooner plans are made the better the costs will be for attending members if you want to make reservations early. The MCDC National Conference is to be held on February 1st and 2nd, 2008. The first day of the Conference is a done deal, contract signed and will be held on Friday evening, February 1st at the Uptown Theatre located at 3700 Broadway in * Kansas City Missouri A power point production and presentation by MCDC President Chris Simcox and other speakers. On February 2nd a workshop is planned to be held for members only and some media. The location is being negotiated and is to be determined later but you will be advised when a location is finalized. So far as to where you should stay I will recommend the Plaza area of KCMo as it is centrally located and has all of the entertainment, resturants and watering holes that you will need. I myself would stay at the Holiday Inn, located at 45th and Main st or a hotel near that location but if you go to the "Kansas City Plaza area hotels" on Goggle, Yahoo or whatever you use you can take your pick of hotels and go from there but again the Plaza area is probably the best suited for your convienience. If you come early or stay late you can visit the Truman Library, Nelson Atkins Art Museum and the Plaza area itself is a sight for sightseeing for the visitor. The "River Boats" are on the North side area if you like the slots, blackjack, craps, whatever. There are other sites of interest that we can send at a later date for those of you that are interested. If you do not drive in you will land at KCI Airport which is North of (20 minutes drive time) the city where you can catch a shuttle to your hotel, most have their own shuttle so contact them for transportation to and from. Football and Nascar will be over so that's out unless you want to stay several months and I would doubt that and unfortunately the Plaza lites will be turned off by that time but if you would like to see what that all looks like during the holiday season check it out (Country Club Plaza Lites) on the web, it's an awesome sight. You will also get much more additional Kansas City Missouri local information.  Note From Ed Hayes June 14, 2007: One of our Minuteman Members (Frances Semler) was appointed to the KCMo Park board and the Hispanics are raising hell because she is a MM Member. This Star article is the second on the subject but the talk shows have picked it up and its all over the place. Francis has been on the radio and certainly will be more. We are finally getting a public backlash over the KKK accusations etc. by the race baiters, everytime they do something like this around here they step seem to step in it. A city councilman called in this morning and accused Francis of being a racist making racists comments and he was put on the spot, asked to give one example and he could not. He ended up looking pretty ignorant in his statements and replies. The folks around here including Kris Kobach refer to the KC Star the "Red Star" since they always side with the special interest groups that are pro illegal Immigration. We couldn't have got better publicity if we had paid for a full page add on the front page of the KC Star! Ed Hayes

Groups want Semler out
PARK BOARD COMMISSIONER | Coalition plans a protest gathering today
The organizations see her views on immigration as divisive. Six council members call for her to resign.

Kansas City organizations representing various racial and religious groups will call today for newly appointed parks board commissioner Frances Semler to resign because of her anti-immigrant views.
And six of the 13 City Council members on Wednesday said they agreed that for the good of the park board’s image, Semler should step down.
The Coalition of Hispanic Organizations, the Jewish Community Relations Bureau/American Jewish Committee, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and other groups will gather 11:30 a.m. at Gage Park to protest Semler’s membership in the local Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, which has taken a militant stance against illegal immigrants.
“It’s our plan to ask the City Council to pass a resolution to ask her to step down,” said Judy Hellman, associate executive director of the Jewish Community group. A news release announcing the news conference said the Minutemen were vigilantes with an “anti-immigrant agenda that is premised upon taking the law into their own hands.”
Semler, who attended her first park board meeting Tuesday, said that her views on immigration had been blown out of proportion and that her priority was “safe, clean, fun parks” for children and families.
“I’m just amazed by all of this,” she said of the outcry. “We need to get down to the business of the parks department.”
The Minuteman corps is not a hate group, Semler said,and members do not take the law into their own hands.
“I’m for the rule of law, and I think that’s the bedrock of this country,” she said.
She said that she thought she could weather the storm and that she had a lot of supporters.
Mayor Mark Funkhouser said he would listen to people’s concerns but had no plans to seek her resignation.
Council members Beth Gottstein, John Sharp, Ed Ford, Deb Hermann, Jan Marcason and Terry Riley said Semler’s views were a problem and a needless distraction for the board.
Some worry that Semler will impose her views on the parks, such as attempting to mandate that all materials be in English and banning immigrants from using city parks — fears that Semler said were absurd.
Referring to the Minutemen, Gottstein said: “This is one step from the KKK (Ku Klux Klan). My world is totally rocked by this. We fight this every day. I am grieving for my friends in the Hispanic community.”
Gottstein and Sharp said they were offended by the groups Semler is associated with and the views she espoused during a CNN television interview and in letters to The Kansas City Star, including suggesting that the federal government halt legal immigration.
“It is time to stop most immigration until we can get control of this department and rethink our laws,” she wrote in 2003.
In addition, some council members were dismayed that one of the leading anti-abortion advocates, Phyllis Schlafly, praised Semler last fall for her leadership in opposing Kansas City’s plan for an inland trading port with Mexico.
Councilwoman Jan Marcason said that if Semler remained, the focus would be on her and not on increasing customer satisfaction.
“If I truly cared about the parks, and that were my goal, I would step down,” she said. “If I were mayor, I would not have chosen her. I would have vetted her. I would not have picked someone I knew very little about.”
Mayor Pro Tem Bill Skaggs and Councilwoman Cindy Circo said it was not for them to call for Semler to resign. The four other council members could not be reached.
While the council can voice its opposition, park board commissioners are appointed by the mayor. Now that she has been appointed, Semler would have to agree to resign.Funkhouser said he chose Semler because she is smart, creative, a master gardener and committed to improving recreation opportunities for city children. He met her when she was a volunteer on his campaign.
Because of the public outcry, he said, he doesn’t know whether he would make the same appointment again. But he urged people to give her a chance and said that what he had read of her views did not seem extreme.
“It said she was opposed to illegal immigration,” he said. “Most people are opposed to illegal immigration.”
Funkhouser’s wife, Gloria Squitiro, said Semler told her she belonged to the Minuteman organization as a protest against the government not doing more to stem illegal immigration.
Also, Funkhouser said, he doesn’t see how anyone can think the new parks board will be anything but inclusive and racially progressive, since it is chaired by John Fierro, a Hispanic man, and includes two African-American men and a white woman in addition to Semler. June 05, 2007 As you will remember, I frequently laugh about the French as the "white flag guys" but after reading this (article below) I have to say that the guys waiving the white flags are our politicians from the top on down who want this amnesty bill passed. I no longer will refer to the French as such but what about our politicians? They have raised the white flag and surrendered to each and every illegal alien from every country on the planet (143) despite:

While the new regime in Paris is determined to curb illegal immigration, it is also looking to encourage legal migrants to reconsider their decision to stay in France -- by paying them to go back home....New immigration minister, Brice Hortefeux,confirmed on Wednesday that the government is planning to offer incentives to more immigrants to return home voluntarily. "We must increase this measure to help voluntary return. I am very clearly committed to doing that," Hortefeux said...Under the scheme, Paris will provide each family with a nest egg of ?6,000 ($8,000) for when they go back to their country of origin.
And here's another way of handling illegal immigration: France set tough new quotas for the number of illegal immigrants authorities should arrest and expel each month, the new immigration minister said Monday. Brice Hortefeux...said a monthly quota also would be set for ferreting out those employed in France illegally. In a meeting with security officials, Hortefeux reiterated President Nicolas Sarkozy's goal of 25,000 expulsions by the end of 2007 - compared with 24,000 in 2006 - and set a year-end goal of 125,000 arrests for alleged illegal entry or illegal residence, a ministry statement said.

Now I hear the appeals court can't see the case because it can't get a hold of the official court documents from the first trial. No tickie, no laundry! The Justice Dept won and they are in no hurry. Those men need to be released and I mean ASAP, Mr President.

Grassfire.org has learned that imprisoned Border Patrol agent Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos has been assaulted in prison by as many as 5 other inmates -- news confirmed by three family members. The assault occurred at 10:00pm Saturday night (2/3), apparentely following the airing of America's Most Wanted. According to Ramos' uncle: "Nacho was assaulted Saturday night around 2200 by about five illegalimmigrants. He has multiple and severe injuries. They put him in Isolation for now, he has not been allowed to see a doctor since Saturday.
